Freedom represents letting your truth shine free.  Hiding in plain sight, an HIV ribbon just appeared while I was painting this piece - telling me it was time to open up about my positivity.  My artwork was speaking my truth for me.  A hummingbird whispers encouragement in her ear.  For me, hummingbirds represent the tender caring gentle love of my mother and grandmother.  So when this hummingbird worked its way into the painting, I felt their supportive strength, quietly encouraging me to open up further.  The orchid represents a blooming of self and the colorful horse represent letting all of your wild and untamed colors run free on the wind.  The figure looks off into the distance (future) with a sense of anticipation and hope in her expression.  This piece represents letting go of fear and shame - allowing your spirit to shine freely.
